Hi, Iā€™m Alexander

I believe that successful psychotherapy enables people to reclaim choice and power over how they feel and behave. It can unlock the door to gaining control of reflex behaviours and negative habits. This can be achieved through reframing one's understanding of the emotional legacy of childhood, identifying goals for the future and learning how to be in the present to maximise the chances of achieving them.

Having had an extremely positive experience from seeking Psychotherapy in my mid twenties, I continued working in the commercial world, both in the music industry and renewable energy, until returning to study at Regent's University in London 7 years ago where I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling. This was in addition to my M.A. Honours degree in Psychology from Edinburgh University. I have also trained at two different mental health charities seeing a very diverse group of clients.

My Approach

My training and approach are both integrative which means that I use a combination of disciplines depending on a clients stated goals. The balance between dealing with past issues going back to childhood; current issues and emotionally stressful life events, and planning the future, will therefore be different for each client according to their needs, but in all cases I seek to help clients to regain their sense of joy and meaning to life, love and work.

This is achieved in a collaborative environment with emphasis on providing a safe and entirely non-judgemental environment for self-exploration.
